Children's Day Festival - July 2025

Howard Davis Park

For the first time, Kairos Arts had a craft and activity stand at the Children's Day Festival this year. Hundreds of volunteers from charities, businesses and across the Government of Jersey help to make Children’s Day a success which attracts more than 10,000 Islanders.
The event for is free for children, young people, carers and families and included:
  • Live music from youth performers
  • Free entertainment
  • Free activities
  • Community tents for families to access information, advice and guidance
The activities at our stand were an opportunity for the children to express themselves creatively. The goal of each of activities was as follows:

  1. Fairy Houses – Opportunity for the children to create an expression of what their fairy house would look like using all sorts of art materials
  2. Community Mural – Children were asked “Can you tell us what makes you happy?” and to draw the thing that brings them happiness.
  3. Mindful Colouring – Children were asked to colour in mindful drawings and bookmarks as an opportunity to focus on the activity
The Fairy Houses were our most popular event. The children were engrossed in the process and really enjoyed the activity. We received the following quotes:

“This is the best station here at the event!” - A father of 3 children of mixed ages, all of which took part in the activities

“I really enjoyed making the Fairy Houses, it was the best part of my day” - Child taking part in the activities

“Kairos Arts was the best at craft activities at the Children’s festival!” - A 7 year old boy
