Kairos Arts receives £10,000 donation from Kezia's Fund
To support children's emotional health and wellbeing
We are delighted to announce we have received a £10,000 donation from Kezia's Fund, administered by The Jersey Community Foundation. This generous donation will enable the charity to provide 10 children with one-to-one therapeutic arts sessions designed to support emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people.
These sessions are designed to support those who may find it difficult to engage with more traditional or verbal approaches, providing a space where they can express and process their experiences through creative practice.
“Many of the children we work with find it hard to put their experiences into words. Therapeutic Arts and Play Therapy offer a different way in. By using the arts and play in a therapeutic setting, we can walk alongside them and help them begin to make sense of what they’re feeling,” said Pam Witthoft, Therapeutic Director at Kairos Arts. “This generous donation from Kezia’s Fund through The Jersey Community Foundation allows us to reach children who might not otherwise have access to this kind of therapeutic support.”
The work will be delivered in partnership with local schools, supporting children within environments that are familiar to them and ensuring a joined-up approach.
Sessions draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including visual arts, movement, music and play. Each child is supported individually, with the work shaped around their needs to help build trust, confidence and emotional resilience over time.
